Description
Tillandsia fuchsii v. gracilis (formerly labelled Argentea) is a silverly-leafed pincushion air plant. This tiny, ball-like species originates from the dry regions of Guatemala and produces a vivid purple flower when in bloom. It produces pups after flowering, and thus grows into a clump like most other air plants. The leaves are soft to the touch and is a favourite among plant enthusiasts because it looks like a sea urchin.
Tillandsia fuchsii v. gracilis is a popular choice for beginners, as it is easy to care for.
Because of it’s size, this air plant is ideal for a terrarium or container, and can grow happily so long as it receives several hours of sunlight and an occasional watering.
A mature size of this species is around 7cm in width and length.
